Matrixyl - Anti Aging Skin Care Ingredient

103 128
Matrixyl is a peptide that is made up of five amino acids joined together, and linked to a fatty acid.
It was a Spanish company by the name of Sederma SA that developed Matrixyl, which is also known as Palmitoyl pentapeptide-3 and Palmitoyl pentapeptide-4.
Matrixyl is found in many anti-aging skin care formulas because it is able to reduce fine lines and wrinkles without any side effects.
Recent studies have indicated that it is as effective as retinol if not more effective, but it does not pose the problems with skin irritation that are so common with retinol.
Also, because it has a fatty acid component and it is such a small molecule, the skin does an excellent job of absorbing it, making it even that much more effective.
How does it work? Glad you asked.
In structure Matrixyl is related to Collagen type I, which is actually its precursor.
Studies showed Matrixyl stimulates the production of collagen, glycosaminoglycans, and elastin, all key skin constituents.
As well, it has been proven to stimulate fibroblasts, so it provides the necessary framework so that the skin can use the collagen I, collagen IV, glycosaminoglycans, and fibronectin.
All of this results in a reduction of fine lines and wrinkles.
In fact, it is all of these components that are how and why Matrixyl works.
Let's have a quick look at some of the Matrixyl benefits: 1.
It is well tolerated.
2.
There is a 13% reduction of skin roughness.
3.
There is a 36% reduction of wrinkle volume.
4.
There is an increase in the thickness of the skin.
5.
There is a decrease of 27% of wrinkles on the face and neck.
There are several studies that have been conducted that confirm these results.
The maker, Sederma did a couple of their own studies that supported that Matrixyl does in fact reduce fine lines and wrinkles and has many anti wrinkle qualities.
The creams that contain Matrixyl include Demajuv wrinkle cream.
In one study, there were 16 volunteers who applied topically either a 3% Matrixyl cream or a cream with 0.
07% retinol.
The participants applied the cream daily for the first two months and then twice daily for another two months.
Both groups showed similar results in reducing wrinkle length and depth, as well as wrinkle surface.
After just 2 months on Matrixyl, the skin thickness increased by 6.
5% and after four months to 8.
6%.
Those on retinol, after two months, saw an increased skin thickness of 4.
0% and 8.
7% after four month.
Is it right for you? While not every product is right for everyone Matrixyl has worked well for a large number of women (and men).
Matrixyl is an ingredient and so you should look for products that have this active ingredient.
You'll find it easy to use and easy to buy.
