How to Clean a Black Smooth-Surface Refrigerator

    • 1). Fill your kitchen sink with warm water. Wet a soft, clean sponge in the water. You must use a clean sponge, as a dirty sponge may contain gritty particles that will scratch your refrigerator.

    • 2). Place a few drops (the equivalent of about 1/2 tsp.) of mild dish detergent on the sponge. Start at the top of the refrigerator and gently wipe downward a foot or two.

    • 3). Rinse out the sponge to remove soil retrieved from the refrigerator. Add more detergent to it and wipe downward another foot or two--continue this until you've wiped down the entire refrigerator.

    • 4). Use a fresh sponge, dampened under warm water, to rinse off the detergent from the refrigerator. You'll need to rinse out this sponge several times during the process so that you rinse the refrigerator thoroughly.

    • 5). Use soft, clean towels to buff the refrigerator dry. If the black looks dull, more detergent residue may be remaining--rinse the refrigerator again with a wet sponge and follow with dry, clean towels.
