Moral lessons for everyday living
If inspiration could help in education then, this quotes of the Father of our Nation Mahatma Gandhi fits well into the lives of several students who are pursuing their education in Schools in India and everywhere else in the whole wide world.
"Your beliefs become your thoughts,
Your thoughts become your words,
Your words become your actions,
Your actions become your habits,
Your habits become your values,
Your values become your destiny."
? Mahatma Gandhi
Values have a great place in every individuals life, because it is our values that help us to distinguish between right and wrong, values define the person we grow up to become. Good values are surely accompanied with good thoughts, willingness to do good for others, be selfless in times of other's needs, help out poor and needy and to be good to others.
Why do parents correct their child if they are doing something wrong? Is it because they want to punish their child for their happiness, well I do not think so, it is because every child is special to their parent and no parent desires that their child become bad, selfish, rude, with absolutely no sense of pity for the needy. This is where school and teachers also play an important role in a child's life as they step into the lives of these young one's in the early growing years of their lives when they can be moulded, perfected and corrected, because if a child is not corrected at an early age then the child might grow up to become arrogant and impudent and without any hope or chance of ever being able to be corrected after that.
Through weekly lessons of moral science children could be taught value based education that they will remember all throughout. Like helping the old people, obeying parents, sharing our things with others especially those who are in need of them more than us, not littering dirty things around us and to correct people around us if they see them littering it, etc. The reason why the subject is named moral science is because we learn the science of moral values, which is very necessary.
Thus, it is not only teacher motivated subject, but even parents should find ways in which they can illustrate before their children how they can be useful to the society by taking baby steps into creating a better environment for human beings.
