A Bad Lifestyle Won"t Kill You, Today

103 30
Old marketing principle: Cure sells.
Prevention doesn't.
In other words ...
if you had cancer, you'd move heaven and earth to get rid of it, to cure yourself.
But if you don't have cancer, most people wouldn't walk across the street to prevent it.
The thing is, if you violate The Basics, you will almost certainly die well before your time.
Or worse - you'll enjoy many years of awful health, then die early.
"Enjoy?" Yes.
That word is in there for a reason.
Let's start with those Basics: 1.
Eat right so you're getting the nutrients your body requires.
This includes 6-8 servings of fruits & veggies a day.
Failing that, you MUST supplement! 2.
Keep your toxic intake to a minimum.
3.
Drink 8 glasses of water a day.
Your immune system requires plenty of fluid for nutrient transport & absorption, and to move the toxins out of your body.
4.
Get a good night's sleep every night.
Your body needs its "shut-down" time.
Eating a meal of saturated fat junk food won't kill you today.
But plenty of people "enjoy" it to death.
If you do it week after week, month after month, year after year, you clog your arteries & over-stress your heart.
Eventually, your heart quits.
And no amount of statin drugs are going to change that.
I've been reading a book titled "The Slight Edge," by Jeff Olson.
Here's a cut from page 33 that is really important to all of us: "It's not the one junk-food meal; it's the thousands, over time.
Eating the burger is just a simple error in judgment.
Not eating it, a simple positive action.
Eating it won't kill you - today.
But compounded over time, it can and will.
Not eating it won't save you - today.
But compounded over time, it can and will.
" "A simple, positive action.
A simple error in judgment.
Either way, it's the Slight Edge at work - working for you or working against you.
" Heart disease is mostly very preventable ...
if you're willing to walk across the street.
I appreciate you! "Be a mentor with a servant's heart!"
