How to Remove Wood Plugs From a Mahogany Boat
- 1). Select a piece of rebar that's at least 1/2-inch smaller in diameter than the plug you wish to remove. Set one end of the rebar in the center of the wood plug.
- 2). Strike the end of the rebar that's not centered on the wood plug with a 4-lb. sledge hammer. If the plug splinters, rather than popping out, continue to hammer the rebar, keeping it centered.
- 3). Chisel out any remaining bits of the plug with a wood chisel.
