How to Change the Screensaver Time on a Laptop Without Moving the Mouse
- 1). Press the Windows key on the computer keyboard to open the Start menu. The Windows key is labeled with the Windows logo. You can also type "Ctrl" plus "Esc" to open the Start menu.
- 2). Use the "Tab" key to jump to the right-side of the Start menu options. Use the arrow buttons to highlight "Control Panel." Press "Enter" to open the Control Panel window.
- 3). Navigate to "Personalization" in the Control Panel menu using the keyboard's arrow buttons. Press "Enter" to open the "Personalization" window.
- 4). Press "Tab" to jump to the list of options along the bottom edge of the Personalization window. Use the keyboard's arrow buttons to highlight "Screen Saver." Press "Enter" to open the "Screen Saver" dialog box.
- 5). Use the "Tab" key to navigate to the "Wait" box. Enter the number of minutes you would like to pass before the screen saver activates. Press "Enter."

- 4). Press the ""Enter" key to open the ScreenSaveTimeOut modification dialog box. Enter the amount of seconds you would like to pass before the screen saver activates in the "Value data" box. Press "Enter."
- 5). Type "Alt" plus "F4" to exit the Registry Editor.
