More "Joint" and Less "Venture" in Your Joint Venture Marketing

103 12
I was on the phone with a marketing buddy.
Our discussion centered around various marketing topics.
And he inspired me to write another article on Joint Venture secrets.
You can probably "read into" the title to this post and figure it out...
but it is probably the most common mistake made by those seeking JV's with top marketers.
It is also the mistake that will immediately get your JV proposal canned by top marketers.
Here is the secret laid out for you...
If you have too much "venture" in your JV proposal, in other words your focus is only to make money for yourself and perhaps the JV partner...
you are in the wrong classroom my friend.
That isn't a joint venture, although the term JV is haphazardly tossed around when conducting business online that way.
Is it wrong to do this? Not wrong per say...
but not very effective any more.
The word "Joint" implies that there is more to it than that.
Think of these questions when planning your next JV proposal (I emphasize actual planning here, not just an email or two sent to all the prominent marketers out there) : 1) How can I help this marketer accomplish something in their business first? 2) Am I really looking for a truly beneficial Joint Venture here? Or am I just looking for a one-time hit of cash? Is there another way I can accomplish the "one-time" hit? 3) What specifically do I plan to get out of the combining of talents and resources exchanged between myself and the potential JV Partner? 4) In reference to number 3, have I actually researched the potential Joint Venture partner's business at all? Have I demonstrated that I care first? There are more questions to ask yourself first...
but all of them center around one concept...
Relationship networking.
That is what JV's are really about, the combination of resources and talents gained by developing a carefully selected set of internet business relationships with others.
Alignment of goals is also a consideration.
This was a short post...
but more to come on this rather lucrative topic.
