How to Refinish a Farm Sink
- 1). Scrub the farm sink with dishwashing detergent. Rinse the detergent using wet rags. Wait for the sink to dry.
- 2). Abrade the farm sink to stimulate adhesion by scouring it with sandpaper. Sand the sink until it feels rough to the touch.
- 3). Protect countertops and other surrounding areas from paint overspray by covering them with masking paper. Tape the paper down, using a low-tack painter's tape. Cover the floor with dropcloths.
- 4). Spray acrylic spray primer onto the abraded farm sink. Hold the primer can 8 inches from the surface as you apply. Wait three hours for the primed sink to dry.
- 5). Spray a 2-part epoxy appliance spray paint onto the primed farm sink. Hold the spray can 8 inches from the surface as you apply. Wait three hours before removing the masking paper and tape. Wait a full day before using the farm sink.
