    • 1). To create a quick and easy tie to your scarf, take an oblong scarf that is long and thin. Fold in half and place the folded side of the scarf over your right shoulder, folding the rest of the scarf behind your neck and allowing the two ends to rest on your left shoulder. Pull the two ends of the scarf through the loop on your right side. Adjust the scarf to a comfortable tightness around your neck.

    • 2). To create the look of a stock tie, take your oblong scarf and drape it over your neck so that both sides are even in front. Holding the ends, cross once behind your neck and bring the ends back to the front. Cross the right end over the left, either tying a bow or allowing the right end to hang over the left in front. Adjust the scarf to a comfortable tightness around your neck.

    • 3). To create a tight, layered look that will keep you warm around your neck and under your jacket, the neck wrap is a great choice. Choose or fold an oblong scarf so that it is very long and thin. Hold the middle section of your scarf, draping it over your neck. Make sure both sides hit evenly with each other. Take the right end of the scarf and bring it towards the left, tucking the right underneath the left. Bring the right back up over the left end, adjust to make sure both sides are even. Repeat this process again, starting with the left end crossing over the right. Bring the double looped ends up to your face and around to the the back of the neck. Again, pass the right end through the left and tie a knot. The outcome of this look should be that you have a double looped scarf tightly pulled around the front of your neck with a small tied knot in the back. This option will fit

    • 4). Medium length, rectangular scarves (cotton, cashmere, or thicker fabric) can look very professional and classic with a basic ascot knot. Hold the middle section of your scarf, draping it over your neck. Make sure both sides hit evenly with each other. Take the right end of the scarf and bring it towards the left, tucking the right underneath the left. Bring the right back up over the left end, adjust to make sure both sides are even. This will allow for the appearance of a loose fitting, low hanging ascot to be worn across your neck, often a great choice for formal holiday parties or black tie holiday galas.

    • 5). Creating a more contemporary, urban look with your scarf that is popular as a fashionable and warm option, choose a large rectangular or square scarf with a geometrical pattern and fringe on the ends. Begin with a triangular fold. Take the right side of the fold, with the fringe hanging down your chest, and begin looping the scarf looping the scarf around your neck loosely. You will want to create the look of wide, loose layers with this scarf. Allow the fringe to hang in different layers over each other, with the concentration being in the front and around your shoulders.

    • 6). To keep your head warm, a scarf can be draped across your head or worn as a wrap, either by itself or underneath a hat. To create the famous "Kelly Wrap," take a large, square scarf (preferably cotton or silk) and begin with a triangular fold. Hold the middle section of your scarf with the creased side facing forward and drape it over the top of your head, forehead, and ears. Bring the two ends of the scarf in front of your neck, crossing the right side over the left and return the excess ends of the scarf behind your neck. You can either tie a small knot or bow with two ends or allow each end of the scarf to drape down your back, over your shoulder blades. This is a very classic and elegant way to wear your scarf and will look like a style from the classic Hollywood starlets.
