How to Remove a 2004 Chevy SSR Console
- 1). Fold the front seats forward using the seat adjusters on the outside of the base of the seat. Pull up on the rear section of the console where it connects to the back of the cap to release the clips holding it in place. Remove the panel from the cab.
- 2). Remove the two screws along the top of the bottom portion of the center console using the Phillips-head screwdriver. Open the armrest on the center console and remove the bolt in the base of the panel using the 1/4-inch ratchet and socket.
- 3). Remove the Torx-head bolt underneath the lever next to the shift knob using a Torx-head socket and the 1/4-inch ratchet. Pull up on the stainless steel trim panel around the shifter using your hands, then unplug the connection on the backside with your hands. Unbolt the screw underneath the trim panel with the 1/4-inch ratchet and socket.
- 4). Pull the center console out from the front of the dashboard with a firm tug to release the clips holding it to the dash. Pull the rest of the console away from the interior.
