How to Take the Knobs Off a Squier
- 1). Look at the top of the knob for a screw and remove it if one is present. Some knobs might have a removable cap that hides the screw, so check for this as well. If the knob does not have a screw, then it's a pop-off knob.
- 2). Place a washcloth on the base of the guitar, directly beside the knob. The washcloth will help protect the paint and finish of the guitar.
- 3). Stick the tip of a spoon under the rim of the knob, with the back of the spoon resting on the washcloth. Press down on the spoon handle to pry the knob off the guitar.
- 4). Put the knob back in place when you are ready to do so. The knob can simply be pushed on, or secured in place with a screw if your guitar model uses the screw knobs.
