The Ministry of Angels - God Speaks Through His Angels
When does God speaks through His angels.
Let us see an example from the scriptures - Luke 1:26-38 LUKE 1:26-38 Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, 27 to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David.
The virgin's name was Mary.
28 And having come in, the angel said to her, "Rejoice, highly favoured one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!" 29 But when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was.
30 Then the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favour with God.
31 And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name JESUS.
32 He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David.
33 And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.
" 34 Then Mary said to the angel, "How can this be, since I do not know a man?" 35 And the angel answered and said to her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.
Right from the beginning of creation, God has been speaking by His Angels (Genesis 22:11).
In Luke 1:26, God brought His word (His will) to Mary, the mother of Jesus, through His Angel.
You can see here again that it was the Angel of God that brought the message; God did not speak to Mary directly, because Mary was not yet born of the Spirit of God, God could not speak to her directly, the Bible teaches us that God usually speak to a man's spirit (Proverbs 20:27).
Was the message not important? Oh yes it was, very, very important.
The message was concerning the conception and the birth of Jesus, however God could not speak directly of the conception of His son to Mary the chosen vessel.
God knowing that Joseph would be worried about how his intended wife got pregnant, God sent an angel to assure him about the situation (source of the pregnancy).
MATTHEW 1: 20 But when he had considered this, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for the Child who has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit".
Take note that even though it was in a dream, an angel of God appeared and spoke to him in the dream.
Angelic visitations are used by God to bring clarity and assurance concerning the message from God.
Till today, God still speaks to man through His angels, whether the man is born of the spirit (born again) or not.
The angels of God can speak to any man; it was an angel that spoke to Cornelius about the need for salvation in Jesus Christ (Acts 10: 1-8).
Many of us have misunderstood the appearance of an angel to be someone with big wings or in white robe, no, not always so.
Yes, an angel may appear in a white robe as described in the Bible (John 20:12), but angels can and will sometimes appear as men.
I can remember my experience with an angel when I was young, it was either in the physical state or in a dream, I can't really remember what state it was then.
What I can tell you is they are big in stature.
HEBREWS 13:2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
This means that not everyone we see around is human, especially when the person is a complete stranger to you, and yet helping you with almost everything and then suddenly, left you alone.
There are angels among us, some of us might have even sent angels away, when they seek to come close.
That verse of the Bible says that they may come as strangers, which means someone you have not seen before.
No wonder that God commands us to love our neighbour as ourselves, the person you might be showing love, opening your door of love to, might be an angel sent to help you, and also you might be closing a door to an angel sent to help you.
Love is a powerful force for good living.
It is the foundation of all blessing.
I heard the story of a family who had a fire outbreak in their house, a gas cylinder caused the fire, and the first action taken was that everyone should leave the house, and rush outside.
Before the fire fighters could arrive, a man from nowhere walked into the house, brought out the gas cylinder that caused the fire, stopped it and walked away.
Later in the day, God revealed to the family that it was an angel that was sent to help them - and truly it was only an angel that could carry a burning gas cylinder, and walk out unhurt.
Notice that an angel, a dream, or vision came when there was a need to reveal information.
God knows how to communicate with you till you perceive and understand, and He knows the best channel to use to speak to you, your required response is to LISTEN and obey.
God speaks to Jesus always and very often, yet the Bible says angels still came to minister to Him (Hebrews 1:14).
Matthew 4:11 Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.
This is to let you know that the ministry of angels will always be needed.
Angels bring the word of God to man, why did God not speak to Jesus directly this time? The answer is very simple.
God is sovereign, He does whatever pleases Him.
Therefore, God himself will choose whichever way He wishes to speak to you.
LISTENING TO GOD is all you need to do.
