How to Enable a USB on an Asus P5Q Motherboard
- 1). Turn on the computer or restart it.
- 2). Hold down the "delete" key immediately after the computer starts up; gray text on your screen is indicative of the computer booting up. Pressing the key will open the BIOS menu so you can enable the USB ports.
- 3). Navigate to the "Advanced" menu and highlight "USB Configuration." Press enter.
- 4). Change "USB Functions," "USB 2.0 Controller" and "Legacy USB Support" to "Enabled."
- 5). Change "USB 2.0 Controller Mode" to "HiSpeed" to have USB operating at 480 megabits per second, or to "FullSpeed" if you need USB ports operating at 12 megabits per second. If you're unsure of the difference, choose "HiSpeed."
- 6). Press "F10" to save your changes and exit BIOS.
