Button flowers can be made into clips for the hair. Once the hot glue under the button has dried, place a nickel sized piece of felt inside an alligator clip. Hot glue the button flower to the felt and the top prong of the clip. The felt keeps the hot glue from gluing the two clip prongs together. Allow the clip to fully dry overnight before applying to hair. Never use buttons on hair clips for children under three due to choking hazard. - Button flowers can embellish a paper-crafted greeting cardAndrew Olney/Digital Vision/Getty Images
Button flowers can embellish a hand made greeting card. Simply choose a
piece of card stock that matches your button flower or the other way around. Fold the card stock in half or in quarters and apply a button flower using a hot glue gun or a glue dot. Add smaller button flowers or stamping to further embellish. - A large button flower can be made out of an artificial Gerbera daisy. Choose an artificial Gerbera daisy and hot glue a color coordinated button in the center. Attach the Gerbera daisy button flower to a small alligator clip. This can then be attached to a crochet headband such as one found at The Hairbow Company. Never use buttons on clothing for children three and younger due to choking hazard.
- Button flowers can be used to decorate scrapbook pages. Choose a scrap book paper that matches the button flowers or you can make the button flowers to color coordinate with your scrapbook paper. Group multiple flowers together or mix small and large button flowers for contrast and decoration. Attach them using archival quality glue dots.
