How to Make More Space on a Pen Drive
- 1). Manage your files. Erase files from the pen drive when you no longer need them or if they sit dormant on the drive. Due to the versatile nature of pen drives, they tend to turn into digital repositories. Keeping your pen drive clean will ensure you always have space to use.
- 2). Remove any software from the drive. Certain pen drives ship with software preloaded on them, which can take up precious space. Delete this software from your drive by simply moving it to the trash.
- 3). "Zip up" your files before placing them on your pen drive. Zipping files compresses them, meaning you can fit more of them on your pen drive. On the Mac, right-click the file and select "Compress." On a PC, right-click the file and select "Send to" and then "compressed folder."
