Following These Tips Will Give You Classiness on a Budget If you are in the position of paying for your own wedding and don't want to go off and elope somewhere, unless you're rather wealthy, you are looking for ways to get a classy wedding while still being able to maintain your budget.
From rentals to getting the perfect cake to finding a photographer and a caterer, there are ways where you can save big bucks if you just follow these simple tips.
Getting Married Off Season Saves You Big A vast majority of weddings occur between April and October.
That means a vast majority of weddings don't occur between November and March.
It is during these months that the wedding rental companies, where you get your chairs, tables, arrangements, decorations, and all those things you just need to use once and never again, hand out great deals.
Sometimes it can be as much as 50% off peak season rates if you don't mind getting married in January.
When you're paying your own way though, 50% can be a lot of moolah.
Don't Go to a Baker - Ask Around For a Cake Baker Chances are your friend is a friend of someone who makes cakes as a hobby and can do a fantastic job of it for you.
In fact, my friend of a friend is a full blown cake maker who makes his own fondant, can make lotus flowers, and will make a spectacular cake for thousands less than the local bakery.
There is someone out there like that for you too - don't be afraid to ask questions of your friends and get their recommendations.
Photographers Are Desperate For Work Wedding photographers are guaranteed to have openings in the off season and they are desperate for incoming income.
Packages that they would charge thousands for can be had for just hundreds in the off season so that you are lured into utilizing their services.
And if you don't want to spend that kind of money, have some of your friends be your own paparazzi.
Let them bring their cameras and have them take their own photographs.
You may not get as many of the staged, traditional photos, but you will get thousands of pictures for free or almost free.
Local Restaurants Cater Too The best wedding I ever went to food-wise had their local Mexican restaurant cater it.
When some folks would pay thousands for traditional meals like fried chicken and coleslaw, they had burritos, tacos, and all the guacamole you could eat and didn't even pay $1,000.
Be sure to check with your local restaurants and see who is willing to cater.
Even if they don't advertise it, they might be willing to take on your business to get your business.
By following these planning tips, you too can end up saving big bucks when it comes to the planning and completion of your special day.
If yours is upcoming, then best of wishes to you and congratulations!
