The Many Offerings from the Valencian Community

One of the more popular Spanish vacation spots has to be the Valencian community which comprises the provinces of Castellon, Valencia and Alicante.

These three provinces make up what is known as the Autonomous Community of Spain which offers a fantastic Mediterranean climate with over 500 kilometers of beautiful sandy beaches.

Main attractions

The long stretches of beautiful Blue Flag beaches make it one of the main attractions of this Valencia community where millions of locals and tourists have enjoyed throughout the ages since the ancient civilizations.

This community also offers many historical attractions which were imprinted by the ancient Phoenicians, Iberians, Greeks and Romans with Moorish and Aramaic legacies still standing in many parts of this community.

These past civilizations have impacted the growth of this Autonomous Community with the varied artistry, architecture and agriculture. Much of the evidence is still very obvious with a lot of architectural monuments standing around the towns and cities with deeply rooted traditions of these ancient cultures currently practiced by the local communities today.

Specialties in each province

Each province of the Autonomous Community holds something special and unique that pertains to its environment which draws many to visit it.

Valencia province is the most popular province amongst the three provinces. It contains Valencia which is the capital city of the Autonomous Community. It is an important business centre with many trade fairs throughout the year.

There are many impressive historical sights in Valencia province as well as world renowned agricultural produce such as tasty oranges.

Valencia province made a name for itself on the international scene with its active participation in important worldwide sports like the Grand Prix and America's Cup.

Alicante, the second province of the Autonomous Community, also hosts the second biggest city with the same name. It has a lot of Moorish influences which are reflected by the Moorish architectural monuments such as the Santa Barbara castle which boasts of well preserved Moorish designs and structures.

Castellon is the northern province of the Autonomous Community which boasts of beautiful ancient architecture structures like the Santa Maria cathedral where the influences of the Greeks and Portuguese are displayed.

Attractive beaches

The Autonomous Community boasts of fine sandy coasts  like Costa Blanca that make it a favorite spot for tourists who are looking for fun in the sun. There are plenty of popular tourist resorts found in the towns of Calpe, Benidorm and Denia.

Costa Azahar is another popular beach area frequented by tourists and locals. It is also known as the "Orange Blossom" coast which offers great beach deals and beautiful towns with impressive ancient buildings like the medieval castle and 16th century King Tower that served as a watch post for pirates in olden days.
