Perfect Love in Movies and Real Life

101 30
The wildly romantic situations that unfold in the movies don’t happen in real life, or do they? It may not be possible to directly apply silver-screen affairs to real life romance but there is always something that can be taken from them; whether it’s an idea of a romantic thing to do or place to visit, look to the big screen for some ideas on how to pep up your love life.

You might not want to create just as much drama as is evident in some of the classic romantic movies like Casablanca or Breakfast at Tiffany’s, but it’s always possible to take inspiration from such films and work it into your own life.

If you want to fan the romantic flames in your relationship and create the kind of romantic spark that raged between Julia Roberts and Richard Gere in Pretty Woman, then get thinking about what you can do with your significant other to make your time together even more special. Local nature and beauty spots are idyllic to visit for a leisurely stroll and if you have a picturesque beach, river or forest nearby then why not make the most of it and take a trip there.

What's more, local river and canal associations often offer rowing boats for hire, so take yourself off upstream for a tranquil morning or afternoon with your partner. It may not be as grandiose as when Leonardo DiCaprio wooed Kate Winslet in Titanic, but if the sea is more your passion then charter a boat or if you can sail yourself, why not hire one and sail off into the sunset together?

Whether sailing down the river or breaking waves at sea, add a little romance to the day by packing a picnic you can both enjoy when lunchtime rolls around. For a little extra sparkle include foods with aphrodisiacal qualities; oysters, figs, chocolate, bananas and asparagus all hit the spot.

If you don’t fancy venturing outdoors then there are plenty of indoor pursuits to immerse yourselves in. Go for a relaxing spa day or eat out at your favourite restaurant. Alternatively, why not take up dancing lessons together and learn to move like Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey in Dirty Dancing? Taking the time to do the things that you and your partner enjoy only adds to the existing chemistry you have together and adds another element to your relationship.

A perfect way to spark a little romance is by watching a romantic movie together. Depending on the type of film you both like, you could indulge in a classic like Gone with the Wind or a more modern option such as Amelie. Watching a romantic movie together is the perfect excuse to cosy up on the sofa, share a bowl of popcorn and enjoy your own evening at the movies.

Whether it is with your current partner or from trying something different with that potential special someone you have met through online dating, there are many great ideas to help you recreate your own romantic movie in no time.
