A blog making money is an idea that can call to mind a lot of things but basically, it means developing a blog in a way that it ranks well in search engine results and, most importantly, brings in the income.
In other words, blogging for money is a goal and there will be techniques to achieve it.
Backlinking is one.
Backlinking to most is just another term that almost doesn't make sense unless one understands its role in site optimization.
This is an SEO technique that makes use of hyperlinks which you build on one web page leading back to your to your blog.
Of course, these links would be in the form of words but not just any words.
They should be anchor text keywords that are relevant to your content.
These keywords are words or phrases that most people use while searching for information that is related to what you offer in your blog.
Backlinks may be built within your blog itself or on another page from another blog or site.
Because you increase your visibility with these links, they will definitely help drive those important traffic to you.
But most importantly, they will make it easier for search engines to index your blog.
That means when somebody hits a search on a relevant topic, your page will easily be pulled up from the search engine's database.
Hopefully, with an effective backlinking campaign, your blog ends up with good search rankings.
If you're wondering why blogs with a lot of links are such search engine favorites, it's all because of an assumed integrity for these blogs.
When a lot of people want to link up with you, that means what you offer must be good.
Therefore, the more links you have, the more search engines will take it that you have what most searchers are looking for.
Eventually, you get good search rankings.
There's a problem, however, when you focus too much on reciprocal links because search engines will tend to see you linking only to those sites which also link back to you.
When this happens, the value of the links tends to decrease.
It is certainly necessary to put in one-way links as well in order to balance things out.
Article directories or other blogs would be the best places for those one-way links which you can place within the article or with videos.
