A baby shower is a great time to celebrate with family and friends. Whether you have a ladies' shower or a get-together for couples, games are an important part of a good shower. The people attending the shower are nice enough to attend, and they usually bring gifts as well. Reward your party-goers with a little entertainment. They'll be glad they attended, and you might even have a lot of fun yourself. - This game is a great way for party attendees to get to see a new side of each other. Ask each person who will attend the shower to bring a picture of herself as a baby and to write her name on the back of the picture. Collect the pictures once everyone has arrived.
Use poster putty to secure the pictures to a dry erase board or easel and number each picture. Write a list of names on a sheet and display the sheet next to the picture display. At some point in shower, give each person a sheet of paper and a pen or pencil.
Instruct everyone to view the picture display and attempt to name the babies in the pictures. When everyone is finished, go through the pictures and ask the appropriate individuals to stand when their picture is called and to say their names. Have party goers "grade" their sheets. See who got the most names correct. - This game is a bit gross, but it is hilarious if your guests have a sense of humor. Gather five to seven clean baby diapers, along with five to seven different types of candy bars. Melt the candy bars a little, one by one, and smear a little of the candy bar into a diaper (one candy bar sample per diaper).
Use well-known candy bars such as Snickers, Milky Way, Fifth Avenue and Hersey's. Draw a number in each diaper with a marker as well. Display the diapers on a tray or table and have your guests write down their guesses as to which type of candy is in each diaper.
Once everyone has finished, reveal the answers and award the person or people who got the most correct answers. - This game is a fun way to display artistic talent, or perhaps, the lack thereof. Give each guest a paper plate and a pencil. Tell the guests that they have 3 minutes to draw a baby's face on the plate. Give two rules: they cannot erase, and they must draw with their non-dominant hand.
Play some whimsical music in the background as your guests create their masterpieces. Once the time is up, have the expectant mother or parents-to-be hand out awards for the cutest baby, most unusual baby and the scariest baby.
