The History of the Price Is Right TV Show
- The Price Is Right began on NBC on November 26, 1956. Bill Cullen was the host of the show, Don Pardo was the announcer and the show was filmed in New York City.
- The Price Is Right moved from NBC to ABC in 1963. On September 3, 1965, the show went off the air.
- The Price Is Right returned in 1972 on the CBS network. Bob Barker hosted this updated show, with new announcer Johnny Olson, who was replaced by Rod Roddy when Olson died in 1985.
- The Price Is Right celebrated its five-thousandth show in 1998. Bob Barker retired in 2007 and was replaced by former comedian/actor, Drew Carey.
- Drew Carey, who produced the shows "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" and "The Drew Carey Show," began hosting The Price Is Right on July, 2007.
