How to Make a Hand in Photoshop
- 1). Open Adobe Photoshop. Click the "File" menu. Click "New." Enter "Hand" in the "Name" box. Enter the canvas dimensions into the "Width" and "Height" boxes, such as "4" for each. Select "inches" from the drop-down menus and click the "OK" button.
- 2). Double-click the "Color Picker," the top overlapping colored box at the bottom of the "Tools" pane. Choose a paint color for the hand, such as flesh for a regular hand, green for an alien hand or your choice. Click the "OK" button.
- 3). Click the "Brush" tool, which looks like a paintbrush on the "Tools" pane. Position the cursor at the bottom of the "Hand" box in the middle. Click and drag the cursor up at about a 75-degree angle and make a loop to form the thumb. Draw down toward the base of the thumb, then loop back up again to form the pointer finger angled toward the top-right corner of the "Hand" box.
- 4). Loop back down and up again for the middle finger, slightly longer than the pointer finger. Loop down and up again for the ring finger, then up and down again for the pinky, pointed toward the top-left corner of the box. Finish the hand by drawing the palm and closing at the starting point of the thumb.
- 5). Click the "Paint Bucket" tool on the "Tools" pane. Click inside the hand to fill it with color.
- 6). Add optional effects by switching back to the "Brush" tool, changing paint colors and drawing an engagement ring, colored nails, veins, tattoos, henna, scars or birth marks.
- 7). Click the "File" menu, select "Save As," designate a place to save the hand image and click the "Save" button.
