However there's no reason a teenager shouldn't sign up for the classes they will still experience several of the same benefits they would have gotten if they had taken the class as a child. Teens who enroll in a karate class can anticipate being able to enjoy the following;

Many of the teens and young adults who participate in karate took classes when they were quite young and then for various reasons stopped participating. Later they found they missed the sport and decided to start taking classes again.
Teens who are heavily involved with some sports have found that they have a difficult time staying fit during the off season. Karate can be the perfect solution. Since it works the entire body, its a great way to prepare for any type of sport. It might even be possible for the teenager to incorporate some of the movements they learn into a custom training and warm up program when the regular season starts back up.
Teen girls in particular have started to take more of an interest in martial arts. Partly because the self-defense skills they learn make them feel better capable of being able to handle themselves and feel secure about leading an independent life. Another reason that so many girls and women have signed up for the martial arts classes stems from a desire to stay fit. Islandia karate provides total body fitness. Between classes and homework teens find themselves spending a lot of time sitting still. This isn't natural for teenagers. Too much inactivity can make them jittery and anxious. Taking part in a karate class provides them with the ability to wear of some their extra energy, especially during the winter months when going for a run might not be an option. Burning off the excess energy provides them with the ability to stay focused on their studies and improve their grades.
Provided the teenager has an aptitude for learning the sport its possible that they could be able to use their karate skills to help them earn a living while they're in college. Most gyms are happy to hire a qualified instructor, especially if its someone who gets along well with children and can help them develop all the skills commonly associated with Islandia karate.
