How to Winterize a Saratoga Spa
- 1). Shut off the spa's heater and power. This will help prevent burns and electric shock.
- 2). Drain the spa. Vacuum all of the jets and injectors once it is fully drained, to ensure that all of the water is removed.
- 3). Remove the spa filter (refer to your user manual to determine exactly where it is) and vacuum the filter plumbing.
- 4). Locate the air channel. Turn the air channel's power on to ensure the pumps aren't running and let excess water blow out of the channel. Turn the air channel off once all excess water is no longer blowing from the channel.
- 5). Locate the plumbing connections of the pump and heater. Loosen these connections. Vacuum excess water found in these areas. Reconnect the plumbing. Reconnect the lower two connections on the pump as well.
- 6). Funnel RV antifreeze into the pump. Most pumps will need about 4 oz. Reattach the pump unions once finished.
- 7). Funnel 1 oz. of RV antifreeze into the jets. Funnel RV antifreeze into the spa's plumbing until it runs out of the intakes on the ground (not all spas are capable of this). Pump RV antifreeze into all of the spa's air channels and injectors.
- 8). Cover the spa with tarp. Strap the tarp down to ensure it stays in place.
