Comparative Study of Structured Cabling Installation

105 17
Structured cabling installation refers to a building telecommunication system on campus or building. The system is done by cabling infrastructure consisting of a number of smaller standardized elements which are known as subsystems and hence they are structured systems. Design and installation of structured cabling are done by a group of standards specifying wiring of data centres, apartment buildings and offices for communication of data or voice via different cable networks of category 6, category 5e, modular connector and fibber optic.

Ways for cabling

Structured cabling installation is done by five ways of cabling. The first being the demarcation point which is the point of ending of the network of telephone company and it gets connected with the wiring of on premises of the premise of the customer. The second is the rooms for telecommunication or the equipment. It is the place where the points of wiring consolidation are kept that serves connection to the users inside the campus or building. The third is the riser cabling connecting the rooms of telecommunication that are placed on different floors. The forth type being the horizontal wiring which wires inside that is used to connect rooms of telecommunications from different outlet or areas of work. The last one is work area component that connects user end equipment to different outlets of structured cabling system.

Solution Growing in Popularity

Whereas on the other hand wireless network solution in today's date is growing more popular and is more demanding. Wireless network means the type of computer network without the connection of cables. The process of wireless networking has helped with the installation of the telecommunication network prices to lower down highs and avoid complicated cable connections. Wireless connections are administered and implemented by using the radio communication. These implementations are done at the physical layer of the model of OSI of networking. A wireless network is best for those areas where there is lack of conventional network availabilities. The wireless network can be of point to point as well as one point to multi point connection. The wireless network solution comes with much lower cost compared to that of the wired cable network. The wireless network can be constructed in every place that includes parks, convention centres, homes, community halls, campuses and much more. They provide high performance with much lower and convenient price.

Types of Wireless Networks in Vogue

Wireless network are of various types namely PAN or personal area network that is used to connect devices within a small area which is within the reach of a person. The second is the wireless LAN or WLAN. These connections are used to connect two or more devices within a distance. Next is the wireless mesh network which is made of nodes of radio and are organized forming a mesh topology. Wireless WAN is the network that covers a large area within two towns and cities. They are mainly used to connect office branches or as an online access system. Other types include wireless MAN and cellular network.
This wireless network is much better than cabled connection in respect of cost as well as performances.
