Hi, I'm Holly Silva, and I've been a Crafts Expert for about 15 years now. Today, I'm going to show you how to make a donkey ear crafts. Now, why would you need donkey ears? I don't know, maybe you're throwing a party for your kids and it's a Pinocchio theme party and you know, it would be fun to dress them up like Lampwick and Pinocchio when they go to The Lost Boy Land and have all that good time. Or, maybe it's say farm party and you want to do different animal ears for your kids. So, today, I'm going to show you how to do the donkey ears. So. what I have here is a piece of brown construction paper. Now, you can use any tone brown of course because donkeys are all different colors. In fact, gray is pretty cool too. So, what you're going to do here is just trace some ears. Now, donkey ears are long and tall and you're going to create just a little bit of a lip at the bottom like so because what we're going to do is we're going to cut it out and we're going to end up folding that over, because that is going to be the base for your ears. Okay. Now, if you want to save paper too, it's also a lot easier to, you can get more, more out of your paper by, from top to bottom, like so. Okay. So, now what you're going to do is cut them out. Here is the bottom of that. You know, it's great having construction paper around the house all the time because you never know why you're going to need it, you'll never going to know, you'll never going to know when you're going to need to use it and you can use it for so many things. You know, our cards, our, our holiday decorations, our holiday decor and donkey ears. Okay. See also, just as you know, our ears and eyes aren't exactly the same, neither our donkey ears. So, it's okay if they're a little off. They're a little imperfect, there's beauty in imperfections. So, what we're going to do here is it needs a little, it needs a little bit of a pink center because they're a lot lighter inside the fleshy part of the ear. I'm using something that pretty much everybody has in their house. If they don't have it, you can use like I said, construction paper. But, I'm using tissue paper. So, just cut out some kind of circles, or not circles but, excuse me, like oblong, an oblong piece. And it doesn't have to be pretty because if it's not, then it just gives the effect of maybe you know, more realistic like it's hair or something. Make the fuzzes. And grab your double stick tape and put a piece on each side, the top and bottom. Nothing too crazy. Alright. Stick it there in the center, like I said, it doesn't have to be perfect. Alright. We'll do that, we'll match the ear a little bit. Okay. So, now you have your ears. Now, what you're going to do is grab some yarn or string or elastic string if you have it. Elastic string would be great. But, since we're just using whatever we happen to have around the house, we're using this green string. You can use ribbon, anything. You want to, what you want to do is you want to measure around your head. So, grab the string and measure just under the chin 'cause you're going tie it. You want to leave just a little bit underneath to tie. So, like a little bit of give. So, hmm, yeah , it's about good. If you're doing it for a child's head, of course it's going to be a little bit smaller because kids have small heads. So, what you're going to do here is find the middle of your string and about there, okay. And what you're going to do now is grab your trustee double stick tape, put it over the string, stick it to the bottom where I mentioned that, earlier that we were going to fold it over. Keep them a little nice distance apart, you don't want them too far. Now, fold over the bottoms and tie them over your head, like so and make a nice little; it's easier to tie it on another person than right under your own chin. Let's see if we can get it here. Can I do it? Can she do it? Oh, done that. Yeah! And there we have our donkey ears. I hope you enjoyed making them, it's going to be a fun party. If you have any questions about this or anything else, let us know and we'll be happy to help you out. See you next time!
