Neuropathy is an illness that affects the nerve of the patient. Since these nerves are linked to important organs and even the skin, it will affect how the body normally functions. Common symptoms of this disease includes burning sensations and weakness in certain areas. Depending on the situation, its onset can be gradual or it could develop swiftly.

The disease is not really known to everyone but this does not mean that it is very rate. It has been found in both young and old individuals. It is difficult to diagnose this disorder as some practitioners may think that the symptoms are a result of some other disease. It can be misdiagnosed. Research is still needed to completely understand it.

The nerves get damaged for a variety of reasons. Sometimes it could be as obvious as something as heavy impact. A doctor will be needed to correctly diagnose this disorder. When going for a checkup, expect to provide details about your medical past and do your best to describe what you are feeling. He may request a number of tests so that he can accurately determine what condition you may have.

If you are diagnosed with the condition, then there are treatments that may be recommended. Usually, the treatment will involve taking medication. This could be antidepressants, anticonvulsants or other substances that are known to provide relief to the pain. There are also a number of alternative therapies you can try if you are interested.

Detroit neuropathy starts when there is damage to the nervous system. Because the nerves can no longer function normally, the body parts they are connected to may also be affected. The patient will typically experience tingling, numbness or pain. The disease can develop no matter what age you are and may affect different areas of the body.
