How to Set Up a Blog Domain With Tumblr
- 1). Log into the registrar from which you purchased your domain. If you don't have a domain yet, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers keeps a list of accredited registrars. Visit the ICANN website to find it.
- 2). Find your domain's A-record, or IP address. The domain registrar provides this information. To point the domain to your Tumblr account, change its IP address here to 72.32.231.8.
- 3). Visit the Tumblr website and sign in to your Dashboard.
- 4). Click the "Customize" link. If you have problems finding it, press "Ctrl" and "F" to run a search. You can also look for the wrench icon -- "Customize" is right beside it.
- 5). Click the "Info" tab in the menu at the top of the screen.
- 6). Click the box beside "Use a Custom Domain Name." Type your domain in the box below.
- 7). Click the green "Save + Close" button. From this point forward, your personal blog domain will point to your Tumblr account.
