How to Mount a Fender to a Front Suspension Bicycle

    • 1). Remove the fender from the packaging and lay out everything that came with it. Be certain no small parts or hardware are missing and that all of the parts fit the bicycle you want to attach the fender to.

    • 2). Set the bike in a work stand or on its kick stand so that it will not fall over while being worked on. Be sure the bike is in such a position that the front fork is easy to get to and work on.

    • 3). If the bike has cantilever brakes, remove them by loosening and removing the brake bolt at the top center of the fork crossbar. Place the top mount-point for the fender between the brake and fork before putting the brake bolt back in and tightening it down. The fender should now "hang" from the brake mount.

    • 4). Using the small rack-mount bolts that came with the fender, attach the centering rods to the outside of the fork. Put the rods through the adjusters on the fender and adjust their height until the fender does not rub on the wheel. Make sure all the bolts are tight.

    • 5). Take the bike for a test ride to be sure the fender does its job properly before riding extensively.
