Craft glue ranges in functionality and allows crafters to glue anything items including delicate photographs, metal crafts, paper products and wooden joints. Select the proper type of glue when working on a craft project to protect the quality of the materials used. Glue applied with heat or certain chemicals may harm the materials; another special type of glue may be necessary. - Users must apply hot glue to projects using hot glue guns that heat the glue sticks to the point of melting and allow the users to apply the glue in small amounts to the desired area by squeezing a trigger. Hot glue is especially useful when gluing projects that are not sensitive to heat. This type of glue is often used in the floral industry.
- White glue is one of the most widely used glue types and is often used for light paper projects. White glue is also useful to hobbyists in a diluted form for spraying on surfaces to glue items across a large area. White glue is typically nontoxic and safe for children's crafts. Because it is water-based, protect it from moisture.

Super glue is destructive to materials such as foam and cloth.
- Foam glue is useful in crafts that require foam to be adhered together or other objects. Foam glue is specially designed to penetrate the foam and provide a strong bond between the materials without degrading the chemical composition of the foam.
