Staying Positive Through Hard Times - How to See the Light in Dark Situations
Even though I consider myself easy going, there will be days when everything seems to go wrong at work.
Customers are crabby and orders were messed up so they never shipped.
Then the computer will crash or the phones go down...
what do you do? Everyone goes through the same stress and no one tries to mess up another's day.
It just happens.
That is why it is called work! Screaming won't help and I sure don't want to start to cry.
I can't get physical and start breaking things.
Taking a walk might help, but it is either pouring rain or high winds with snowy conditions.
I thought of laying on the ground and kicking my feet like a 2 year old to help relieve some of the frustrations, but I'm too old for that and besides, I might get my outfit dirty.
So what do I do...
I look up and ask for God's help.
As humans there really is no good way to get rid of the day's stress.
All of the above may work at one time or another, but there will always be consequences of one sort or another.
The below poem was my way to deal with the situation.
I hope you find it helpful.
See the Situation What a beautiful morning God gave me.
It's a blessing to live on this day.
All the problems of this week are behind me So I can start new and be on my way.
This past week I learned many lessons And sometimes I even fell on my face, But through it all God walked right beside me And when I failed, he saved me by grace.
I have no control over the people around me.
It's all up to him...
I am thankful for that! All I can do is to try to walk in his footsteps And keep my mouth shut to avoid combat.
There were days when I felt I would lose it And there were others I thought I would cry.
Silently...
I wold ask God to help me To see the situation through only his eyes.
I think we all have made mountains from molehills.
We miss the blessings God sends us each day.
From now on when the day starts in turmoil, "This, too, will pass," is what I will say.
