Maytag Neptune 6500 Washer Problems
- 1). Select the "Max Extract" option if clothes are very wet at the end of the wash cycle. Choose a warm wash temperature, as colder temperatures can leave clothes damp at the end of the cycle. Use high-efficiency laundry detergent and ensure the load size is balanced. Small loads can leave excess water in the tub.
- 2). Tighten the hose connections and clean the inlet and drain hoses of potential obstructions if the washer is leaking. Close the washer door firmly and use only the recommended amount of high-efficiency detergent.
- 3). Avoid opening the lid during the wash cycle if the washer does not spin or drain. Press "Start/Pause" to resume the cycle and select a new drain or spin cycle if necessary. Ensure the door is closed firmly and wait at least 30 seconds after the start button is pressed for the washer to begin operation.
- 4). Clean the water inlet screens if the washer stops frequently or is not filling with water properly. Ensure the water valves are turned on and the hoses are firmly connected. Straighten the water hoses.
- 5). Ensure both the hot and cold water valves are turned on if the washer seems to be filling with the incorrect temperature water. Verify that the household hot water heater is heating water to at least 120 degrees Fahrenheit and the desired temperature cycle has been selected. Note that the washer may start with cold water until the washer automatically adjusts the water temperature.
- 6). Tighten the leg lock nuts if the washer is extremely noisy during use. Ensure the rubber feet, provided with the washing machine, are placed on the leveling legs. Remove some items from the washer if overloaded or re-balance the load if only one large item has been placed in the washer.
