Get Better Results in Radio Controlled Car Races With a Fast Servo

103 47
The cost of a radio control car servo varies from very cheap, around $10 to over $100.
Torque and speed performance are the differences between the prices.
You need to use the fastest you can afford, and here's why.
I have used many different servos in the long time that I've been racing.
I've used servos costing a few dollars, and servos costing over a hundred dollars What is the difference between a servo with a transit time of 0.
08 seconds, and a cheaper one with a transit time of 0.
20 seconds? The more expensive one is two times as quick, but the slow one still only takes a fraction of a second? I used to use cheap servos in my Tamiya M03 Mini.
But recently, racing it indoors I was finding I was off the pace, and being beaten every week, and I didn't know what was wrong.
I changed so many things on the car to try and improve it, and finally I got around to upgrading the servo.
I wish I had done it years ago.
The transformation was amazing: I soon had the quickest car, setting fastest lap times, and up with the leaders.
I was amazed how the servo made me so much quicker, a good servo gives you: 1.
Centering - the car now went straight! 2.
Increased granularity, more accurate and smoother 3.
Speed - the car changed directions SO much faster The servo makes such a huge difference to racing results, don't underestimate it's input to your car.
Install the best you can get, and if you want to save money, buy a used expensive model.
