Savannah - Things to Do on Fourth of July

The city of Savannah, Georgia, is a perfect place to celebrate the 4th of July.

The Fantastic Fourth - Riverstreet Independence Day is celebrated on River street in the downtown historic district with fireworks.
The fireworks are shot over the Savannah river.
The firework display begins around 9:20pm.
The Fantastic Fourth Fireworks and celebration is presented by the City of Savannah and Chatham County.
Special concert One of the most popular things to do for the Fourth of July in Savannah is attending this special concert - Savannah Swings.
Jeremy Davis and the Fabulous Equinox Jazz Orchestra will present the 5th annual Savannah Swings Benefit Concert in the historic Savannah Theatre.
All net proceeds will go to support the United Service Organizations (USO).
The show features four amazing singers and an impressive 20-piece orchestra.
Savannah Swings includes a variety of patriotic music and Rat-Pack-style All-American swingin' standards.
The audience has enjoyed the amazing performance from Clay Johnson, Trae Gurley and Adam Jones and Huxie Scott usually receives standing ovations for her soulful singing.
One of the most beloved number is the "Armed Forces Salute" paying tribute to all of the veterans and active military in the audience.
Since this is a Fourth of July performance, the show ends with everyone joining in a New Orleans street parade down to River Street.
Lucky ticket holders also have a VIP seat on River Street for the City of Savannah Fireworks.

Tybee Island If you prefer, you can head out to Savannah's beach, Tybee Island for fireworks already on Saturday July 3rd, 2010.
