How to Get the Hookshot in "Zelda Majora's Mask"
- 1). Obtain the Zora mask if you have not already done so. When you reach the season of Spring in the game, go to the Great Bay and help the Zora to shore. Play him the Song of Healing, which will earn you the Zora mask.
- 2). Warp to the Great Bay Coast using the Song of Soaring, if you are not already there. Put on your Zora mask and swim to the islands in the Northern half of Great Bay. Just North of the islands are a set of four doors. Swim into the second door from the left to reveal the entrance to the Pirate's Fortress.
- 3). Enter the Pirate's Fortress. After going through the entrance, you will climb a ramp onto dry land and will see another body of water on which several pirates are sailing. Move into the water and stay below the surface to avoid detection by the pirates. Swim to the North-East of the water until you find a long, steep ramp. Climb the ramp to find a round switch on the ground. Put on your Goron mask and ground-pound the switch to open an underwater gate. Swim through the gate at the South-West of the water. Enter the main area of the Pirate's Fortress by breaking all wooden barriers, pulling the first stone barrier and pushing the second.
- 4). Climb the stairs once you reach them and use your boomerang to hit the crystal switch on the platform across the room to open the gate. Quickly swim through the gate, avoiding the vent which will pull you back to the entrance if touched. Climb the ladder at the end of the passageway. Step on the switch, stand on the vent and hit the switch on the wall with your boomerang. The vent will propel you up to the next area.
- 5). Climb the ladder in this area and shoot the spikes hanging from the ceiling to hit a switch hidden on the wall. Descend the ladder and walk through the door opened by the last switch. Follow the path to the right until you find a doorway.
- 6). Walk through the doorway and defeat the pirates with your bow and arrow. Climb the ladder of the large wooden tower, walk to the end of the bridge and walk through the door at the end of it. At the end of the next passage, a cinematic will play, after which you can shoot an arrow through the bars of the window at a beehive, which will scare the pirates out of their room. Return to the courtyard, jump down and walk through the door to the right to enter the pirate's room. Open the treasure chest to obtain the hookshot.
