How to Remove the Wheels of a 2002 Corvette
- 1). Park the car on a flat level surface.
- 2). Place the 12-inch-wide wood blocks about 5 inches in front of each tire.
- 3). Drive the car onto the blocks and set the parking brake. This will give you the required clearance to get the jack under the nose of the car. If the car has a manual transmission, place the car in gear.
- 4). Locate the front suspension cross member. It is found connected to the lower control arms bolted to the side rails of the frame structure. Notice the cross member has two reinforcing ribs running down it.
- 5). Center one piece of the 6-inch wide blocks on the jack pad. Slide the jack under the nose of the car, past the air dam and place it directly under the reinforcing ribs. The jack surface must span the ribs to avoid damage to the cross member.
- 6). Raise the front with the jack and place jack stands under each end of the wood for safety.
- 7). Move the jack to the rear of the car and center the other 6-inch wide block over the jack pad.
- 8). Look under the rear of the car and locate the rear cross rail members. They are located on each side of the rear spring. Place the jack under the rear most rail that has two reinforcing tabs. Make sure the wood block is not touching the fiberglass rear spring.
- 9). Raise the rear of the car and place jack stands under each side of the wood block for safety.
