DIY Dry Carpet Cleaning
- 1). Mix 1/4 cup baking soda, 1/4 cup salt and 1/4 cup borax in a jar with a lid. Using a shaker lid similar to that of a can of shredded cheese will work well for this process. Alter measurements as needed, as these portions will clean approximately 10 square feet of carpet.
- 2). Sprinkle a coating of the dry, powdered mixture over your carpet.
- 3). Push the powder down into the carpet fibers with a deep broom, using small brushing motions as you push downward with the broom. Let the powder sit for 2 hours.
- 4). Vacuum the carpeting after 2 hours has passed to collect the powder.
