American Garden Awards 2010
Echinacea purpurea 'Prairie Splendor'™ is the only perennial flower competing this year. 'Prairie Splendor' is the first coneflower to bloom in its first year.
'Prairie Spendor' was also a 2007 Fleuroselect Gold Medal winner. It's got the swept back petals and large, pointed center cone of traditional coneflowers, but it usually starts blooming earlier and just carries on throughout the season.
