How to Install a New Electronic Antenna

104 14
    • 1). Remove all of the components of the electronic antenna you have just purchased from a hobby store, electronics store or electronics online retailer on a work surface. Check that all of the components listed in the instruction manual that accompanies the antenna are in front of you.

    • 2). Hold the electronic antenna horizontally. Place the antenna on a windowsill where there is a clear, unobstructed view of the horizon. The window can be opened or closed; it doesn't matter.

    • 3). Screw one end of a coaxial cable into the coax socket at one end of the electronic antenna.

    • 4). Run the coaxial cable down the wall and along the baseboard of the wall until you come to the digital TV.

    • 5). Place the electronic amplifier on the floor behind or to the side of the TV. Screw the other end of the coaxial cable onto the "Input" labeled coax socket on the electronic amplifier.

    • 6). Insert the plug at the end of the power port cable attached to the power adapter into the power port socket on the electronic amplifier. Plug the power adapter into a wall outlet for power.

    • 7). Screw an end of another coaxial cable onto the "Output" labeled coax socket on the electronic amplifier.

    • 8). Screw the free end of this coaxial cable into the coax input on the back panel of the digital TV (typically labeled "Ant"). Turn the TV on with its remote.

    • 9). Navigate through the menu selections until you come to the "Video input" menu. Select this menu. Select the "Ant" option from the list of inputs available. Press the "Menu" button on the remote repeatedly to exit the menu settings.
