How to Beat the Pig in "Diddy Kong Racing"?
- 1). Choose a character with a decent top speed and at least modest turning ability. Slower characters like Pipsy will have a hard time maintaining the lead, and characters like Krunch will have a hard time on the sharper bends
- 2). Release the accelerator just before driving over a Zipper to gain a faster and longer-lasting speed boost, which you'll need to make some of the jumps across the water in Wizpig's course. When you get the special boost, you'll see rainbow-colored smoke coming from your car. Wait a moment after hitting the Zipper before you press the accelerator again to maximize your boost time.
- 3). Press the "R" button to engage the brake while sliding to execute a very sharp turn. Practice using this sharp turn elsewhere before you try it against Wizpig; while it can prevent you from falling into water or running into a wall, the sharpness of the turn can disorient you if you're not used to it.
- 4). Avoid direct contact with Wizpig, even if it means slowing down for a moment; he will win any contest of strength regardless of how heavy your character is, and he will either knock you off course or stop you cold.
- 5). Restart the race if you fall in the water, as Wizpig's speed makes it nearly impossible to recover from even a brief mistake.
- 1). Wait until you collect two Red Balloons to obtain a homing missile before you fire at Wizpig. You may not be able to fire as often, but one missile that hits is better than two missiles that miss, and given his speed, unguided missiles are very likely to miss.
- 2). Hug the inside of the curve when you reach the large, open area with the water below and flying spaceships. Collect the blue balloon on top of the Wizpig statue here, and use the boost before you enter the narrow tunnel.
- 3). Obtain the shield balloon on the left side of the tunnel, and activate it just before you enter the throne room; without a shield, you're very likely to get hit by one of the many lasers flying through the room.
