Truck Buying X's and O's
A good acquaintance of mine recently went from owning a big truck to owning a much smaller hatchback. He generally changes his car every few years. After a few months of owning it he regrets the change wishing he still had his hefty muscle truck. At the time of his owning the truck I remember him having a different opinion.
You may be in a position to own or to unload your truck. Let's take a look at a few reasons to like and dislike the truck. We'll see what is best for our owning/buying decision.
Advantages of Owning a Truck
Here are a few reasons you might decide that the truck is right for you:
1) Moving Items - If you frequently move big items around it may be a challenge to do that in a car trunk. A truck will give you the advantage and freedom to quickly move big items to different locations.
2) Safety - A truck will usually sit a little higher off the ground from most cars. This generally gives the driver a feeling of superiority on the road. They are bulky and protect the driver and passengers in the event of a car accident.
One time I was watching an intersection when a massive accident occurred. A very popular truck clashed head on with a large sedan vehicle. The owner of the truck immediately came out seeming without a scratch. The owner of the large sedan had to be taken by ambulance. Case in point, the truck protected the passenger better than the large sedan did.
Disadvantages of Owning a Truck
You may decide against owning a truck for these reasons:
1) Economy - A truck burns more fuel than most cars do. If you are concerned about the direction of fuel you will be stressed at the gas pump.
2) Errands - Everybody and their uncle will be calling you to help them move something. They always remember you have a truck.
3) Seating - If you have a family or move passengers around you'll find most trucks are not equipped to handle those tasks comfortably.
It's now time to take those X's and O's and see what add up for you.
