How do I Get Ink Out of Aunt Martha Transfers?
- 1). If the affected fabric is 100 percent cotton, wash it in cold water for one hour in a washing machine. If the ink is not too heavy on the fabric, it will wash out immediately.
- 2). If the stain is still visible, or the material is not cotton, soak it for 30 minutes in cold water. Then hang it to dry in direct sunlight, either near a bright window or outside. Direct sunlight causes transfer ink to fade. Leave it there for one to two days, dependent on the strength of the light.
- 3). If the transfer remains, iron over the top of it again very thoroughly and proceed to wash it by hand. Use cold water and regular laundry detergent, and rub the ink stains with a cotton cloth. The heat will loosen the transfer, allowing for quick removal upon washing.
