How to Change the Owner's Name on Microsoft Office 2002

    • 1). Click the "Start" button and select "Run." Enter the word "regedit" (minus the quote marks) and click the "OK" button.

    • 2). Locate the folder titled "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE." From the that folder continue choosing the following subfolders: Software > Microsoft > Windows > Current Version > Uninstall > then locate the product code for your MS Office, which can be found with the original installation disc.

    • 3). Go through the product codes one by one If you see more than one product code in the Uninstall folder until you find the MS Office key, which should be labeled Microsoft Office XP Professional.

    • 4). Double-click the item labeled "RegCompany" which will be listed under the "Name" column. A dialog box will open, and in the "Value Data" box type in the owner's name to change it to whatever you wish and press "OK."

    • 5). Close the registry box and restart your computer. The changes will go into effect once any of the Microsoft Office programs are opened.
