The very first hotel to open in this area was the El Rancho Vegas

The Pair-o-Dice club in Las Vegas, was the first casino to open there. It was established in 1931. The El Rancho Vegas was the first hotel that opened on the Vegas Strip about a decade after the strip was created. At some point other hotel locations like Hotel Last Frontier and the Flamingo did the same thing.

International Hotel maintained the atmosphere of hotels

A glorious example of how much the ever growing hotel customs of Las Vegas were progressing was the International Hotel. With more than 1500 rooms, it became the largest hotel in the globe, when it opened in the year 1969. The International Hotel was also considered the first mega resort to open in Las Vegas.

As time passed, the size of the hotels increased

Kirk Kerkorian founded the first MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in 1973, housing 2,084 rooms, which is more than the number of rooms in the International Hotel. In 1989, the Mirage was built. It was equipped with multiple entertainment centers, dining halls and a spectacular casino making it the largest mega resort at that time.
