How to Make a Restaurant Menu at Home
- 1). Write your made-up name for your home restaurant at the top center of the copy paper in pencil. Use the family name or a name that fits with the food you are serving. This pencil version is only a rough draft to set the layout.
- 2). Center a title for each course that you plan to serve down the page in pencil. Use formal or informal names for the courses to keep in line with the pretend restaurant concept. Leave room for the names and descriptions of the dishes.
- 3). Fill in the names of each dish and a full description under the course titles in pencil. Describe every major ingredient and some of the cooking techniques to make it easy for the diners to understand the dish.
- 4). Edit and revise the rough draft of the menu. Correct spelling and grammatical errors to make the menu look as professional as possible. Adjust the sizing of the titles and descriptions until you are satisfied with the overall look.
- 5). Copy the finished version of the rough draft onto a sheet of glossy cardstock using pens or markers. Calligraphy and other hand-drawn scripts add a nice touch as long they are legible. Make up as many homemade restaurant menus as needed for the event.
