How to Remove the Hard Drive in a Dell D610 Laptop
- 1). Turn off your Latitude D610 laptop computer. Close the screen of the computer and pull out the power cord. Turn the computer upside down and remove the battery from the computer.
- 2). Remove the two screws on the bottom of the computer that hold the hard drive into the machine. These screws are near the edge of the computer where the Ethernet port is located (directly next to the hard drive slot).
- 3). Pull the hard drive out of the computer and then pop it out of its cover.
- 4). Slide the cover onto the new hard drive. Slide the drive into the empty hard drive slot.
- 5). Replace the two screws you removed, ensuring that they are secured so that the hard drive cannot come loose. You may now plug the computer back in and power it up.
