How to Replace a Freezer Evaporator Motor
- 1). Unplug the refrigerator from the wall outlet.
- 2). Open the freezer door, then remove the freezer contents, including the shelves and drawers. Remove the drawer rails by removing the screws securing them to the side of the refrigerator wall.
- 3). Remove the screws securing the rear panel to the freezer.
- 4). Lift the upper rear panel out of the way, then pull the evaporator fan motor shroud out of the freezer.
- 5). Pull the wire connector off the side of the fan motor, then pull off the fan blade.
- 6). Remove the screws or depress the tabs securing the fan motor to the shroud, then remove and discard the motor.
- 7). Snap the new fan motor into the shroud or insert the motor and then secure it using the screws that were removed.
- 8). Connect the wire connector to the side of the motor, then press the fan blade onto the fan post.
- 9). Place the shroud back into the freezer, then lower the upper rear panel.

Replace the rear panel, drawer rails, drawers and shelves. - 11
Restore power to the refrigerator.
