Romantic Getaways Near Benton Harbor, Michigan

Benton Harbor, Michigan is a small town located off the state's west coast, near the shores of Lake Michigan. The area is a summer tourist destination, known for its beautiful Great Lakes beaches and relaxing wineries. While there is only one romantic getaway in Benton Harbor, and there are also a couple in its sister city, St. Joseph, which is about two miles away. - The Courtyard by Marriott in Benton Harbor offers couples a romance package for their trip to the west side of Michigan. This package includes champagne, a Kilwin's chocolate sampler, an in-room movie and breakfast for two in the Courtyard Cafe. Staying at the Courtyard gives couples the opportunity to visit the Lake Michigan beach, stop by some wineries or visit the local farmer's markets that made Benton Harbor famous. Tabor Hill Wine Tasting Room, located on Main Street in Benton Harbor, is just one of the wineries that can be visited. This time of year is less crowded, so couples have an opportunity for quiet and romance. The romance package gives couples a 25 percent discount if they stay two or more nights, and the bed and breakfast is close to local wineries, art galleries and antique shops. Chartreuse Co-op Art Gallery is a downtown art gallery that is worth a visit, as is the Box Factory for the Arts. This quaint bed and breakfast has four rooms available to stay in.
