How to Make a Revolving Lampshade
- 1). Place your transparency film on top of the drawing, photo or artwork you want to replicate on your lampshade. Trace the artwork onto the transparency film with a fine-tipped permanent marker. Work slowly and avoid touching the ink; it will smear on the transparency.
- 2). Allow the ink to dry for at least an hour. Flip the transparency over and paint in the image with acrylic paint. This way, the entire image will shine and your outlines will stay neat and clean since you don't have to worry about painting over them. Allow the paint to dry overnight.
- 3). Curl the transparency into a cylinder with the painted side facing inward. Overlap 1/4 inch of the edges and secure them with superglue. Press the edges together and let them dry for at least an hour.
- 4). Twist the top of your rotating lamp to the left and lift it off the lamp. Slide your new lampshade down into the lamp and screw the top back into place. Turn on the lamp. Once the shade warms, it should begin to turn.
