Many people have websites, that does not guarantee that they are capable of doing what they think they can do.  Having a website up only proves you can put that together or pay someone else to do it for you. There are lots of people who call themselves an advisor online who have no proper track record of helping anyone at all. So - which is the best agony aunt site online?  

There is one site that I like. The best way you can be sure of who you consult and how genuine they are and how good they are is if they have a PROVEN track record.  Charlotte Craig does.  She ended up running  a huge concern with a lot of staff, writing for newspapers, helping famous people. Rich and famous people are fussy and can afford the best.  If you cannot afford the best then just talk to friends and dont bother to consult people who are not able to help. It is a total waste of money, even if very cheap!  Charlotte Craig is cheap considering how experienced she is.  I imagine she will be retiring soon so make the most of her while you can.  It is one of my favourite sites.

Much of the site is free to use and all of it is very helpful.  The best bit is that the person who runs it is well qualified. So whatever you do you cannot go wrong. Charlotte Craig cares and she knows what she is doing. Charlotte Craig is the most qualified and experienced problem page online right now and I doubt this will change unless she retires one day. Charlotte Craig is the only one online i WOULD bother with.

If you are going to consult someone because you want them to tell you what you want to hear then you are being silly. It makes a lot more sense for you to consult someone who may say things you do not like but which are helpful.  If you want a sycophant who pays lip service to you go to a friend or family where it is free and where they care about you.  Whenever you go to a stranger you have to remember they do not know you and this can be good because they are not biased but it can also mean that they have selfish reasons for bothering with you.

 it is easy for a wannabee anything to buy a computer and claim to be a professional at something.   I often get people sending me emails telling me they are a professional writer and that they are just waiting for a publisher to realise how wonder they are and then they will become famous and rich,  yet their email to me is badly worded with awful punctuation, grammar and spelling!
